LYN'S MOTHER'S DAY EDIT

Five years ago when I created the Raconteur, I made my first candles on my kitchen table in Bondi. My mum, Lyn, had just moved to Australia from England and had offered to help me set up my business.

There were boxes piled up against every wall of my Bondi apartment with candle jars, wax and packaging everywhere. It was quite a “welcome to Australia” moment for her.

Fast forward 5 years and mum is my right-hand lieutenant. She oversees all aspects of running my business, from wholesale accounts to working with our retail team, to handling product logistics and keeping an eye on financials. Mum has helped me fulfil my dreams, not just over the past 5 years, but throughout my life. So this Mother’s Day I wanted to give her a big shout-out: 

“Thank you Mum - it’s a real privilege and special treat to share the growth and development of the business with you. I really couldn’t have done this without you.” 

I asked Lyn, who is incredibly shy (unlike her son!), to step forward and share her thoughts on her favourites for Mother’s Day gifting.
