Pristine isolation. Ancient terrain. A remarkable coastline with a Mediterranean climate. These three elements make Margaret River one of the world’s great wine regions.
Positioned on a cape and surrounded by the Indian and Southern oceans on 3 sides, the region backs onto desert. The Leeuwin current flows warm from the north and the constant cooling ocean breezes provide gradual gentle ripening conditions against a terroir of red ochre, granite and gravel loam.
Tall forests tower over colourful wildflowers and pristine white beaches are hugged with native scrub. A wild surf coast meets verdant forest and beyond the stacks of granite boulders lie these exceptional wineries. Here the soil and vineyards are treated as a living ecosystem and the link between plant growth and rhythms of the cosmos is celebrated. A place of minimal intervention. Where nature speaks for itself.
