The Raconteur X Hannah St Hotel

Designed by Flack Studio, Hannah St Hotel is a study in contrast and character – where bold materiality meets quiet elegance, and heritage gestures sit comfortably alongside contemporary form. Every space has been crafted with intention, creating a layered, lived-in atmosphere that reflects Melbourne’s creative pulse and rewards guests with details that reveal themselves over time.

The Raconteur was commissioned to design three fragrances that captured the essence of this new generation of hotel that speaks to elegant craft, intriguing detail and quiet moments.

HANNAH ST NO. 1

A scent of arrival and contrast for the lobby — the pulse of Southbank distilled: rain on concrete, steel in the air, citrus on skin, the first breath of the city at your feet.

Light citrus and spice notes contrast with rich woods and resins, interwoven with cues of urbanity — rubber, steel, rain-washed concrete — and the cool salty weather drifting in from the Bay. Fresh linen threads through the composition, capturing the city’s energy, textures, and sensory contrasts.

HIGH GREEN

A scent of pause and restoration for the pool and spa — lush green air, filtered light, time suspended. The new luxury: stillness.

A calming, reflective scent inspired by the tropical rooftop garden and the South Melbourne Flower Market. Citrus greenhouse notes mingle with crushed monstera leaves, bird-of-paradise flower, and blue cypress over a smooth amber base — designed to calm, ground, slow down, and restore a sense of sanctuary.

SOLAR VEIL

A scent of ease and elevation — the refined calm of a Melbourne rooftop at golden hour.

Golden light meets crisp sea air. Bright bergamot and green jasmine vine lift into a heart of tuberose, diffused through warm mineral tones and smooth sandalwood. Amber grounds the composition with a subtle radiance — a scent that feels elegant and effortlessly social: the art of unwinding, distilled.
