Paperback Perfumes - Podcast

Recently, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Clare Presser, host of Paperback Perfumes podcast, where we discussed a seminal book and author who helped shape the perfumer I have become today.

 

That author is Mandy Aftel and her book, Essence & Alchemy, captivated my imagination as a former corporate lawyer seeking to embark on a new creative path in my “mid-life awakening” phase.

 

When I look back at my first fragrances, trade shows, and campaigns to promote my work — one thing is clear — I’ve always been surrounded by an incredibly supportive group of people who have believed in me and the unique stories I’m telling with scent. As an artist, that’s all you need. My reverence for nature is a deep guiding force, and it sits at the heart of everything I do.

 

Thank you Clare for shining a light on the big 180-degree pivot in my life, the risks taken, the things that work, and the things that don’t. Thank you Mandy for being the wonderful mentor and teacher in my life who helped me find my voice as a perfumer.

 

All my paths have led to this point and I’m excited to also share that in a few weeks, I’ll have a big update on my farm project @the_raconteur_farm, which is the next phase of my fragrance journey coming to life.
