Love lives in the shadows
Too messy. Too inconvenient. Too far ahead of their time.
This is one of them.
In 1879, the bushranger known as Captain Moonlite stood before the gallows in Sydney. Awaiting execution, he wrote one final request.
He did not ask for mercy. He did not ask to be remembered. He asked to be buried beside James Nesbitt. The young man he loved.
History called them outlaws. History called them criminals. History spent more than a century trying to explain away the depth of their connection.
Yet when Moonlite died, his final letters told a different story.
A story of devotion. A story of grief. A story of a love that refused to disappear. More than 130 years later, his wish was finally granted. In 2011, Captain Moonlite was exhumed from Rookwood Cemetery in Sydney and reburied beside James Nesbitt in Gundagai.
Separated in life. United at last.

Moonlite’s Dance was created as our tribute to that remarkable story. Working with perfumery materials found underground, vetiver, ginger and orris root form the heart of the fragrance, creating a quiet warmth that feels both grounded and deeply human.
As it settles, dark frankincense resin emerges from the shadows, adding depth, mystery and a lingering sense of presence long after sunset.
Elegant.
Restrained.
Quietly magnetic.
A fragrance for those who understand that the most powerful stories are often the ones whispered rather than shouted. After dark only.
