THE PINOT NOIR QUESTION
One grape. Four stories. How?

Pinot Noir has long been known as the perfumer's wine.

Not because it is the most powerful grape variety.
But because it is among the most expressive.

Like fragrance, Pinot Noir rewards attention. It reveals itself slowly. It invites curiosity. Tiny differences in site, climate and craftsmanship can create dramatically different outcomes.

No other grape seems to absorb and reflect its surroundings quite so completely.
Which raises a fascinating question:
How can one grape tell four completely different stories?

On Saturday 11 July, we invite you to join us for the third gathering of Nose(y) Club as we explore four of the Coal River Valley's most celebrated Pinot Noir producers.

One grape.
Four estates.
Four entirely different expressions of place.

A celebration of one of Tasmania's most remarkable wine regions and the people helping define it.

TOLPUDDLE
The Benchmark

Few vineyards have done more to elevate the reputation of Tasmanian Pinot Noir on the world stage than Tolpuddle. Elegant, precise and internationally acclaimed, its wines are often considered a benchmark not only for Tasmania, but for Australian Pinot Noir more broadly.

At Nose(y) Club, we'll explore how restraint, precision and site can combine to create something extraordinary.

STARGAZER
The Visionary

Founded by Samantha Connew, recently named Australian Winemaker of the Year, Stargazer has become one of Tasmania's most admired small producers. Sam's wines are thoughtful, expressive and deeply personal.

Here we celebrate the role of the winemaker — the visionary whose decisions shape the final story in the glass.

POOLEY
The Legacy

Named Halliday Winery of the Year, Pooley is one of Tasmania's great family wine stories. Across generations, the family has built a reputation for producing wines of elegance, character and authenticity.

This is a story about stewardship — and how time, patience and family commitment can shape a place and its wines.

PRESSING MATTERS
The Pioneer

Long before Tasmania became recognised as one of the world's great cool-climate wine regions, Pressing Matters was quietly establishing itself in the Coal River Valley.

Its vineyard is among the valley's oldest Pinot Noir plantings and continues to produce wines of distinction and character.

This is a story about vision — recognising the potential of a place before the rest of the world catches up.

Throughout the day we'll taste, compare and discuss these four wines while exploring the parallels between great wine and great fragrance.

How does place shape an outcome?
How much influence belongs to nature, and how much to the maker?
Why does Pinot Noir reveal itself slowly, layer by layer, much like a fine perfume?
And why do some stories linger long after the glass is empty?
