International Fragrance Day 2026

Fragrance has always felt like something quietly powerful to me, invisible, yet transformative. It has the ability to shift a mood, unlock a memory, or transport you somewhere else entirely within seconds. Few art forms can do that.

International Fragrance Day is significant because it honours this invisible craft — the perfumers, teachers, growers and makers who dedicate their lives to something ephemeral, yet deeply emotional. It celebrates scent not as a luxury, but as a language. A way of telling stories without words.

Ten years ago, I chose to follow that language. What began as curiosity became study in Grasse, mentorship under Mandy Aftel, and ultimately a life devoted to exploring Australia’s extraordinary native botanicals through perfume. Scent stopped being something I enjoyed; it became how I understand the world.

Perfumery requires patience, restraint, intuition and courage. It asks you to trust your senses and your imagination. It’s not linear. It’s not predictable. But it is endlessly fascinating.

Today, I feel immense gratitude for my teachers, for my team, for our collaborators, and for every person who wears our fragrances and allows them to become part of their own story. To create something intangible that becomes meaningful in someone else’s life is a privilege I never take lightly.

On this International Fragrance Day, I’m reminded why I began and why I continue.
